be selfish if you wish to be free

At the end of the day, each and every one of us share the same fate.
So, why not?

I’m a big believer that to achieve the upmost freedom in life is pursuing a hedonistic lifestyle. Especially in the face of harsh criticisms, negative opinions, fear, and all else.

I should preface, I’m not saying you should refrain from being selfless or considerate towards others, but what I am saying is to be selfish in order to satiate your own needs and desires. If it’s harmful to others, then you probably shouldn’t indulge in it any further. Ideally.

Look at it this way. The age-old advice of taking risks is an inherently selfish practice. It disregards guilt, shame, and worry that could come from it. The presumed fear is nothing more than the perception of being incapable, and often concerning yourself of what others may think.

I was raised in an environment where my peace was stable as I appeased others or else. I was incredibly miserable and I eventually grew tired of it. Playing it safe no longer benefitted me and I could it in my spirit.

Taking the first leap wasn't easy and I don’t think it was meant to be.

Since then, I’ve noticed my quality of life had change significantly. I’m surviving, but I’m thriving.

I fostered the courage to continue doing things I loved. I was a fearful skeptic who thought being comfortable was what was best. Not anymore.

I took risks and no longer cared how, so long I was able indulge in self- fulfillment. the confidence in my decisions. And the best part is, it didn’t hurt nobody. Reclaim your life; never ask for permission only forgiveness.

Like I said before, why not? Go for want you want, but do so selfishly.
